NAPLIC Conference 2018
20th May 2018
We attended the NAPLIC (Professionals Supporting Language and Communication Development) Annual Conference at Birmingham’s Aston University on Saturday 28th April. We had an excellent day of learning and reflection facilitated by inspiring speakers and experts in the field, from Professor Jean Gross who talked us through the 10 year anniversary of the Bercow 2008 review, to Megan Dixon, Director of Literacy for Aspire Academy who inspired us about the links between spoken language interventions and literacy. Thomas Martell from the Education Endowment Foundation reviewed the wealth of evidence that Early Years language interventions and Metacognition approaches can provide the greatest levels of accelerated progress in schools. We loved hearing this, as these are two approaches that we strongly promote in the work we do in our schools. Lots to take away – we will see you next year NAPLIC!
