Meet Anne-Marie Owen,

Speech and Language Therapist

Anne-Marie loves working with children and school staff to find practical, engaging ways to overcome communication barriers and make progress.

A little about Anne-Marie

One of Anne-Marie’s favourite parts of being a speech and language therapist is helping schools work out how to meet children’s communication needs in ways that are realistic for their setting.
She especially enjoys therapy with children. Building a relationship, discovering what motivates them and turning intervention into games and interactive experiences all help make new skills feel achievable.

Supporting speech sounds and Developmental Language Disorder

Anne-Marie has particular professional interests in speech sound disorders and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). She enjoys getting to know each child and finding the approach that will help them communicate and participate more confidently.

Her background in French and linguistics brings another perspective to her understanding of language, while her clinical training supports detailed assessment and targeted speech and language therapy.

Working with children and school staff

Anne-Marie sees collaboration as an important part of effective support. She works alongside teachers and other adults around the child, helping them understand communication needs and reinforce progress beyond individual therapy sessions.

I love getting to know the children and schools I work with, and finding the best way to support them to achieve their communication goals.
