Meet Becca Barnett,

Speech and Language Therapist

For Becca, speech and language therapy is about much more than words. It begins with a safe, trusting relationship in which every child feels seen and heard.

A little about Becca

Becca is passionate about child-centred care. She believes the best support begins by understanding a child’s world and working collaboratively with the adults who know them well.
By bringing children, families and school staff together around shared goals, she helps create an environment in which communication can grow and children can take a more confident part in school life.

Early language and communication in the classroom

Becca particularly enjoys supporting early language development, helping children find their voice in the classroom and empowering school staff to feel more confident in meeting speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

Her experience across paediatric settings includes supporting children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, as well as work with children with Down syndrome through a local charity.

Making support part of the school day

Becca loves spending time in the classroom, where she can see how communication support affects a child’s confidence, involvement and learning. This also gives her opportunities to work alongside staff and connect therapy strategies with everyday activities.

I love seeing first-hand how our support helps children feel more confident and involved in their school day.
