A little about Suzi

Suzi loves helping children find confidence in their communication and feel able to be fully themselves. Her friendly, unhurried approach gives each child the time and space they need to communicate comfortably and in their own way.
She finds it especially rewarding when a child overcomes a communication barrier or achieves something they had not felt was possible.

Supporting children and young people who stammer

Suzi has extensive experience of supporting children, young people and adults who stammer. Before joining Interactions, she spent thirteen years working in NHS speech and language therapy services in Leeds, including seven years in a specialist role supporting people who stammer.

She brings this depth of knowledge into the wider Interactions team, providing additional thinking and support when a school is working with a child who has more complex needs around stammering and communication confidence.

Time, space and confidence to communicate

Suzi helps children explore communication without pressure. She builds trusted relationships, listens carefully and celebrates progress that matters to the individual child – including the confidence to communicate as themselves rather than trying to speak in one prescribed way.

I love seeing the moment when a child overcomes a communication barrier and achieves something they didn’t feel was possible.
